Malayalam blockbuster RDX starring Antony Varghese, Shane Nigam, and Neeraj Madhav has entered the ₹100-crore club.

The lead actors shared the new poster about ₹100 crore collections on their respective social media pages on Saturday, 23 September.

Meanwhile, the film was premiered on Netflix on Sunday, 24 September.

RDX has touched the golden ₹100-crore mark in the business collection. The journey’s been emotional, and your unwavering love carried us through every high and low. RDX will start its journey on Netflix from tomorrow. Thank you for being our strength”, said Neeraj Madhav in his Facebook post. Antony Varghese also shared a similar post.

Directed by debutant Nahas Hidhayath, RDX is an action film scripted by Adarsh Sukumaran and Shabas Rasheed. The core idea of the movie is revenge and it tells the story of three skilled martial artists. They had parted ways at one point in their life, but they reunited again to fight a common enemy. Babu Antony, Lal, Vishnu Agasthya, Mahima Nambiar and Aima Rosy Sebastian also play main roles in the film.

Onam blockbuster

King of Kotha, Ramachandra Boss & Co., and RDX were the three major Onam releases this year. Dulquer Salmaan’s King of Kotha ended up as an above-average grosser, while Nivin Pauly’s Ramachandra Boss & Co. couldn’t attract the audience to the theatres.

Though RDX was released without much fanfare, it ruled the box office with more theatres putting up extra shows during the Onam vacation.

According to the theatre owners in Kochi, they made a good business through Nahas Hidhayath’s RDX and Rajinikanth’s Jailer during Onam.

King of Kotha makers claimed that a targeted negative campaign against the movie was hampering their collections. The negative campaign prompted actors Nyla Usha and Shammy Thilakan to speak against the trolls.

However, the Dulquer Salmaan-starrer reportedly made a safe business through its satellite and OTT rights.

₹100-crore club entries in Malayalam

Earlier this year, the survival thriller 2018: Everyone is a Hero entered the ₹100-crore club. The makers claimed that it was the fastest flick to reach the ₹100 crore milestone — in just 10 days.

Earlier, Mohanlal-starrer Lucifer (2019) entered the ₹100-crore club in 12 days. Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan (2016) was the first movie in Malayalam to reach the ₹100-crore mark.

Mammootty’s Madhuraraja (2017) and Bheeshmaparvam (2022) also garnered ₹100 crore each.
