Kollywood pays tributes to ‘Baasha’ producer RM Veerappan

'Baasha' producer RM Veerappan no more

Tamil producer and politician RM Veerappan passed away on Tuesday, 9 April, due to age-related illness.

He was 97.

The veteran producer worked with various actors, including MGR, Sivaji Ganesan, Rajinikanth, and Kamal Haasan.

Many celebrities and politicians took to social media to mourn the demise of the veteran producer.

Superstar Rajinikanth, who worked with RM Veerappan, consoled his death.

Veerappan was the producer of Rajinikanth’s blockbuster film Baasha (1995).

While interacting with the media, Rajinikanth shared his memories and praised Veerappan as an ace politician who took his advice and played a key role in state and central politics.

The actor stated that Veerappan followed the principle of “Arignar Anna”.

Rajinikanth also recollected that his friendship with Veerappan was deep and emotional.

Film personalities like Kamal Haasan, Sivakumar, and Illaiyaraaja also paid their tributes to Veerappan.
