‘Malayalee From India’ is a relatable story, says Nivin Pauly

Nivin said he gave a green signal to the film since the story dealt with a serious issue and had a generous dose of humour.

Nivin Pauly’s upcoming film Malayalee From India is all set for release on 1 May. Director Dijo Jose Antony helmed the project.

The teaser, released on 29 April, revealed that the movie deals with a serious subject following which expectations are running high for the flick.

Nivin Pauly plays the role of Aalparambil Gopi in Malayalee From India. The actor claims that the audience will find his character quite relatable.

Addressing the media at a pre-release event in Kochi on Tuesday, 30 April, the actor said, “I did the movie because I felt that every Malayalee would find the story relatable. It has many emotions and is set against the backdrop of a village.”

Nivin Pauly also added that he gave a green signal to Malayalee From India since the story dealt with a serious issue and had a generous dose of humour, which was not seen in recent films.

Director Dijo Jose Antony said the story, penned by scriptwriter Sharis Mohammed, will have many elements that instantly connect with the viewers.

When asked about the official teaser, which catapulted the expectations of fans and moviegoers, the filmmaker said the team intentionally designed the promotional material to give an impression that Malayalee From India would be a comedy entertainer and then release the official teaser after getting inputs from the audience.

Interestingly, the teaser crossed 1 million views and is trending top.

Dijo Jose stated that the film would bring the performer in Nivin Pauly to the fore. “I was able to capture the acting talent of Nivin Pauly in the movie and could explore his serious side, too.”

Listin Stephen produced Malayalee From India under his banner Magic Frames.

The flick also stars Dhyan Sreenivasan in the lead role. Anaswara Rajan is the female lead.

Nivin Pauly has eagerly been waiting for a break in his career for some time now. Many of his films did not do well at the box office recently.

However, he made a comeback of sorts with his cameo role in Varshangalkku Shesham (2024), which won the hearts of his fans and film enthusiasts.
