Jude Anthany Joseph to team up with Simbu for a bilingual?

Malayalam director Jude Anthany Joseph and Tamil actor Silambarasan TR aka Simbu are rumoured to be working together on a bi-lingual project.

Reports say the movie is expected to be produced by AGS Entertainment or Dil Raju. If the bilingual works out, it would be a major boost to Jude Anthany Joseph, who helmed the blockbuster Malayalam movie 2018: Everyone is A Hero (2023). The survival thriller was based on the deadly Kerala floods in 2018.

As the speculation over Jude Anthany Joseph and Simbu’s bilingual film became viral, netizens are widely discussing the wonders this unique combination could do at the box office. It would certainly be interesting to watch them come together since they both worked on different genres and have different images.

Meanwhile, an official confirmation is awaited from the respective parties regarding this news.

Simbu was last seen in Pathu Thala (2023), which was a box-office success. He is busy with a couple of big projects, including STR 48 under the direction of Desingh Periyasamy, Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life alongside Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Gautham Karthik.

STR 48 is bankrolled by Kamal Haasan’s home banner RKFI (Raaj Kamal Films International). However, unconfirmed reports suggest that RKFI backed out of the film.

Simbu was recently spotted during the Indian 2 promotions in Chennai.

In May last year, Jude Anthany Joseph announced his next with Nivin Pauly. Similarly, in July last year, Lyca Productions announced a movie under Jude Anthany’s direction. However, there have been no updates on these films.

Jude Anthany Joseph’s 2018: Everyone is A Hero was also selected as India’s official entry for the Oscars 2024. However, the movie failed to get shortlisted in the Best International Feature Film category at the Oscars 2024. Following this, the filmmaker apologised to his fans, well-wishers, and supporters through a post.

2018 featured Tovino Thomas, Indrans, Kunchacko Boban, Aparna Balamurali, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Asif Ali, Lal, Narain, Tanvi Ram, Sshivada, Kalaiyarasan, Aju Varghese, Siddique, Joy Mathew, and Sudheesh in major roles.
