Kamal Haasan and Simbu in Thug Life

A seemingly leaked photo featuring Kamal Haasan, Simbu, Abhirami (of Virumaandi fame), and Vaiyapuri, from the sets of Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life has been doing the rounds online.

We hear the makers have been shooting at the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Mandir in Delhi’s Aerocity.

As the leaked photo from Thug Life sets went viral, there was massive excitement online over Kamal Haasan’s younger appearance. The photo reminded fans of Sathyaa (1988) and Simbu’s short stubble look from Kaalai (2008).

According to reports, Simbu could be seen in Thug Life as Kamal’s son.

Simbu replaced Dulquer Salmaan, who opted out of the film due to date issues.

Mani Ratnam and crew have been filming Thug Life in the nation’s capital for the past two weeks. This schedule will go on till 12 May. The remaining portions will be shot in Chennai and London.

Following Nayakan (1987), Kamal and Mani Ratnam reunite in the gangster drama. It also features Mani Ratnam’s favourite collaborators — music director AR Rahman and senior editor Sreekar Prasad.

Since Kamal Haasan portrayed Sakthivel Naicker in Nayakan, fans are eagerly anticipating what Rangaraya Sakthivel Naicker (the actor’s role in Thug Life) has in store.
