State of Play: In “Mother of democracy”, crushing of dissent

With protestors still in detention accusing Delhi police of physical assault & excess and right wing goons were given a free pass to intimidate & assault dissenters in the national capital, PM Narendra Modi deemed India the “mother of democracy”. The opposition meanwhile insists it has launched a movement to reclaim democracy from tyranny.
