Petrol pumps shut down in Old City amidst protests

The police asked bunk owners to shut down as a precautionary measure amidst ongoing protests over MLA Raja Singh.

Many petrol pumps across Hyderabad’s Old City remained shut amidst protests on Wednesday, 24 August 2022. The protests against MLA Raja Singh continued through the day and the police asked the bunk owners to shut down as a precautionary measure. As many as 31 protesters were arrested by the police. Raja Singh made derogatory comments against Prophet Muhammad on Monday. He was arrested and released on bail on Tuesday.
