Munugode Bypoll sees high voter turnout

The high-stakes Munugode bypolls saw high voter turnout on Thursday, 3 November, even as the BJP accused the ruling TRS of misusing government machinery.

The tri-cornered fight between the TRS, BJP and Congress also saw a high-decibel campaign.

Parties accused each other of liquor and money distribution.

There were 47 candidates in the fray, and a total of 298 polling stations, of which 105 were critical.

With an electorate of 2.41 lakh, many say Munugode could be a bellwether constituency to set the tone for 2023.
