Synopsis: A video that has surfaced online showed the police break gate locks, move into the front balcony, and knock on the doors. In the footage, BRS party workers and members of the party’s legal cell can be seen objecting to the police action, repeatedly asking whether they had come to make an arrest. Police responded that they were there only to serve a notice. However, later, the police broke the front door open and arrested Krishank amid anti government sloganeering by BRS supporters.
Telangana police on Friday, 18 September, broke open the gate locks and doors to enter BRS social media convener Manne Krishank’s residence in Hyderabad and arrest him, amidst objections from supporters.
While initially the police said they were there to serve the notice, they eventually arrested the BRS leader.
A video that has surfaced online showed the police break gate locks, move into the front balcony, and knock on the doors. In the footage, BRS party workers and members of the party’s legal cell can be seen objecting to the police action, repeatedly asking whether they had come to make an arrest. Police responded that they were there only to serve a notice.
A lawyer from the party’s legal cell then pressed the police further, questioning why they were attempting to force entry if no arrest was intended.
Despite the objections, police went ahead and broke the locks, entering the porch area. They subsequently removed the netting from the front window and called out to Krishank, ordering him to come outside.
A police official can be heard saying, “Please open the door. If you don’t, we’ll have to break it.”
A little while later, the police broke the front door open and arrested Krishank amid anti-government sloganeering by BRS supporters.

Krishank’s BRS party released a video recorded by him prior to the arrest.
In the video, he said, “At 4 AM I was at Bollarum police station where KTR’s PRO was being investigated. After police officials asked us to leave, promising that Mahesh would be left, I started at 4 AM and came back home.”
“At 5 AM, the police started knocking on the grills, trying to barge in with almost 50 police personnel. They are saying they want to serve the notice, 35 BNS. If someone wanted to serve notice, what is the appropriate time? I am available here; I am not a criminal who is absconding. I am very much here. On news channels, amidst people. So why did they have to come with 50 police personnel at 5 AM? Am I a criminal? Am I a murderer?” he questioned.
“All I did was post what I saw at the Saifabad police station. Where masked men entered the police station. We have seen the CCTV footage that the police official showed; that is what we have also posted. And this matter is also in the High Court, which has asked to preserve the footage. Yesterday evening they filed an FIR, and they have already broken the grill and are trying to break down the main door of my residence.”
Speaking of the trauma faced by his daughter, Krishank said, “My seven-year-old daughter was supposed to attend her exam, but she could not, because of this ‘tamasha’ by Telangana police. Right now she is petrified at home listening to the door banging and the breaking down of the grills.”
Further criticising the Revanth Reddy government, Krishank claimed, “I have been questioning the Congress government, particularly on the recent land allocation to a shell company, Tesseract Advance Systems Private Limited, linked to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s younger brother. KTR has raised these questions too, and BRS members have visited the site. Not once has Chief Minister Revanth Reddy responded.”
“Is this vendetta happening now because of that same grudge? I am not afraid. I am standing here to show how, for a simple tweet — one where we asked for CCTV footage to be released to the media, footage that even the Court had directed be preserved — this is the treatment the so-called ‘Mohabbat ki Dukaan‘ government metes out,” he further added.
“This Revanth government has already sent me to jail twice on false cases for questioning them, and now they want to repeat that. I will continue to fight. I will continue to question. All the BRS party has done is raise people’s issues — whether it’s the concerns of polytechnic students, farmers, or the unemployed.”
He further reiterated, “These are the same issues I have raised in press meets, news debates, and on social media. Is that why you want to break into our residence and terrify our family members? Revanth garu, I will not stop questioning. BRS will not stop questioning.”
The BRS leader was arrested based on an FIR filed at Nampally police station on Thursday, 17 September.
The FIR invokes Sections 224, 195(1), and 353(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Section 3 of the Police (Incitement to Disaffection) Act, 1922.
The FIR was registered based on a complaint filed by N Shankar Reddy, President of the Hyderabad City Police Officers Association, who alleged that Krishank made a false and provocative post on social media concerning police officers.
Krishank had posted on his X account, @Krishank_BRS, on Tuesday, 15 September, about the alleged masked-men attack on KTR’s PA and PRO inside Saifabad Police Station.
The post thanked constables and sub-inspectors for refusing an order to don masks and attack the aides. He attributed the order to an IPS officer whose “home State is Karnataka.”
He claimed that Congress workers from Chintal Basti were hired instead, with a retiring ACP tasked to manage their entry and exit.
Reddy’s complaint states the allegations were verified to be false, and argues the post was engineered to turn subordinate police personnel against their superiors and derail the ongoing probe into four BRS-related cases at Saifabad.
It also flags the Karnataka reference as lending the post a regional colour, and said that the post’s closing line, “Time won’t be same forever, government will change” is an implicit threat.

BRS working president KTR took to X to criticise the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, “You carry a copy of the Constitution and preach sermons. You claim your politics is about ‘Mohabbat Ki Dukaan‘. You talk about free speech. But your government in Telangana is acting in exactly the opposite manner.”
“Telangana police broke open the doors and barged into the home of our party leader Krishank, arrested him over a mere social media post criticising the government. Krishank’s daughter was left crying inconsolably as police personnel created chaos.”
