Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao on Tuesday, 28 March, issued legal notices to BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar and TPCC president A Revanth Reddy for their comments over the TSPSC question paper leak issue.

He is suing them for a whopping ₹100 crore under Section 500 (punishment for defamation) of the Indian Penal Code.

He has accused them of making statements through the media that damaged his image and reputation.

KTR demands public apology

KTR’s advocate Sudhanshu Rao Enuganti, in the notice sent to Bandi Sanjay on behalf of his client, said that if the Telangana BJP chief did not apologise to him through the same channels which he used to malign the BRS leader’s image, he would be constrained to file a case in the court for defamation for a token amount of ₹100 crore.

In the notice, KTR’s advocate said that the action was being taken in response to Bandi Sanjay and Revanth Reddy’s “false and baseless defamatory statements made at various press meets which were telecast and published in various news channels, including digital and social media across numerous print publications country viz V6, NTV Telugu, Sakshi TV, TV 5. etc from 17 March to 25 March 2023”.

The notice said that unless the two leaders refrained from making such defamatory statements and tendered a public apology, KTR would take forward the legal proceedings in courts of competent jurisdiction.

TSPSC question paper leak

KTR had earlier said that Reddy and Bandi Sanjay had bared their ignorance by dragging the Telangana government and him into the issue of the question paper leak without understanding the autonomous nature of the TSPSC.

KTR also said that he suspected that the Congress and the BJP had hatched a deep conspiracy to stall the entire recruitment process.

He also said that Bandi Sanjay and Reddy had earlier termed the Telangana government’s job notifications a “conspiracy” and their comments that the youth should put aside their preparations for the examinations had reflected the deceitful disposition of the leaders.
