TSPSC paper leak Congress

Telangana Congress president A Revanth Reddy on Sunday, 19 March, alleged that the state’s Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao was directly involved in the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) exam question paper leak case.

He alleged that since the case was not handed over to any Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up by the state government, it failed to witness any progress.

Revanth Reddy also demanded that the case be investigated by the CBI or by a sitting judge. At the same time, KTR should be removed from the minister’s post, he added.

Congress to move legally

According to Revanth Reddy, the Telangana Congress would also fight the TSPSC paper leak case legally and hear its arguments in the high court on Monday.

“We will complain to the Governor on Tuesday and request the prosecution of those involved in the case immediately,” he said, adding that the party would fight in support of the unemployed youth.

He called upon the 30 lakh unemployed youth in the state to strive to dissolve the BRS government for what he said were its wrong policies.

Revanth Reddy, who observed a daylong “deeksha” in protest against the case in the Gandhari mandal in the Kamareddy district, said KTR’s personal assistant Thirupathi Bandari was acting as a shadow minister.

The Congress leader said that Thirupathi Bandari and Rajasekhar Reddy, who was accused number two in the case, belong to neighbouring villages, and alleged that the former gave Rajasekhar Reddy his job and ensured promotion to him.

‘Disclose candidates’ details’

Revanth Reddy demanded that the state government disclose the details of the more than 100 candidates from the Malya mandal who scored 103 and above in the Group-I exam.

“How can Rama Rao confirm that only two persons committed a crime before the police questioned them in custody? Is he an investigative authority?” asked the congress leader.

Those working in the TSPSC are not eligible to write competitive exams, but the government gave some a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to write the exams, he added.

“More than 20 people wrote the competitive exams against rules. A woman identified as Madhuri came from the US and wrote the Group-1 exam. She got the first rank. Junior assistant Rajanikanth Reddy got the fourth rank,” said Revanth Reddy

Detailed investigation sought

“A detailed investigation should be conducted to know any role of confidential section officer Shankar Lakshmi in the case. Does Rama Rao know this? Were Sri Lakshmi, Praveen, Venkatadri Sridevi, Ramesh, Vasu, and Madhulatha allowed to appear for exams against rules or not?” he asked.

“If permission was given, the government should reveal the names of those who were given permission. All this cannot be done without the knowledge of the minister whose office provided support,” he said.

Stating that Rama Rao could not escape from the case, Revanth Reddy demanded a comprehensive probe into the examinations that were conducted from 2016 till now.

He sought to know why Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao — KTR’s father — failed to respond to the serious issue and give assurances to the unemployed youth.
