Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday, 10 December, visited BRS supremo K Chandrashekar Rao, who is currently recuperating in a private hospital following a hip replacement surgery.
After taking stock of the health of KCR, Reddy told reporters that he had directed Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumar and relevant officials to provide the necessary assistance and cooperation for the former chief minister’s treatment.
Wishing KCR a speedy recovery, Reddy said he urged the BRS chief to regain health quickly and participate in the upcoming Telangana Assembly session to address the concerns of the people.
The chief minister emphasised the importance of KCR’s guidance in ensuring effective governance in the state. He also engaged in a conversation with the BRS chief, who discussed his injuries, as seen in a video.

A press release from the BRS on Saturday stated that there was a possibility that KCR would be discharged in the next two or three days.
As per another bulletin released on the same date, the hospital anticipated a recovery period of six to eight weeks for the former chief minister.
Dr Praveen Rao, a consultant joint replacement surgeon at Yashoda Hospital, told reporters, “The progress of KCR’s health condition is good. He is recovering rapidly. He used a walker to move around the room, and his body responded well. This is referred to as ‘mobilisation start’, in medical terms.”
He added: ‘After hip replacement, we encourage the patient to walk. KCR is experiencing minimal pain. We are also incorporating breathing exercises.”
He also said, “He is medically stable and mentally strong. Physiotherapy will continue for a few more days. If his body continues to cooperate, we plan to discharge KCR in another two or three days.”
A health bulletin from Yashoda Hospitals, titled “Day 1 post surgery – update” also concurred that KCR is “medically stable”. It added that as per standard international practice guidelines, KCR was mobilised within 12 hours after surgery. It added that his treating doctors are satisfied with his progress.
Following the defeat of the BRS in the recent Assembly elections, KCR resigned as the chief minister on 3 December. He stayed at his Erravalli farmhouse, where he held meetings with party leaders and the public.
On the night of 7 December, KCR (69) fell at his Erravelli residence and was subsequently shifted to Yashoda Hospitals at Somajiguda. After a thorough evaluation, the hospital reported that he had sustained a left hip fracture, and surgery was deemed necessary.
On the night of 8 December, he underwent the surgery successfully, as indicated in a bulletin released by the hospital.
Meanwhile, the BRS Legislature Party on Saturday unanimously elected KCR as its leader in his absence. The meeting was not attended by the former chief minister’s son and party working president KT Rama Rao either.
