Synopsis: Reddy has been accused of sexual assault, abuse, and blackmail by a fellow trainee at the Academy in Shivarampally. The woman officer trainee approached Attapur police station on 18 July.
The Rajendranagar Metropolitan Magistrate Court rejected an interim bail plea by sexual assault accused trainee IPS officer Uday Krishna Reddy, on Tuesday, 4 August.
Reddy had filed the interim bail petition to appear before the inquiry committee at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy where the alleged assault took place.

Hyderabad task force police picked up Reddy at Damaracherla, Nalgonda district, on the outskirts of Hyderabad on 28 July.
DCP Lavanya Naik of the Women’s Safety Wing is investigating the case. The DCP and Inspector Jyotsna recorded the accused’s statement. Reddy was taken to Attapur police station at 8:30 am on 29 July, where the FIR was filed. His arrest was recorded at Attapur.
Following which, he was produced at Upparpally Court for custody. The court had remanded Reddy to 14 days of judicial custody last week. He has been lodged at Chanchalguda Central Prison ever since.
The police sought custody of Reddy for investigation and the matter is yet to be heard at the Rajendranagar court.
Last week, The Telangana High Court too declined to provide interim relief to Reddy. He had filed a petition at the HC to quash the FIR filed against him. The matter was adjourned and posted to 26 August.

Following the FIR’s registration, Reddy was admitted to Jayanti Hospital in SR Nagar after a suicide note led his family members to believe he had tried to end his life. A medical examination later found that excessive alcohol consumption made him fall unconscious.
The police reportedly visited Reddy’s two official addresses in Hyderabad in July, to serve him with a notice but couldn’t locate him, leading them to believe he was absconding. They were also unable to reach him via phone or trace his location.
Reddy appeared on a local news channel for a video interview on Tuesday, saying he was in his native village, Ullapalem, in the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. He claimed that his grandmother fell ill upon hearing the news of allegations against him.
He acknowledged that the police tried to serve him notice but said that the addresses they went to were actually his temporary residences. He denied absconding
