FIFA World Cup final: Hyderabad bars, clubs to stay open till 3 AM; Bengaluru restaurants to be open till 3:30 AM

Meanwhile in Bengaluru hotels and restaurants can extend food service timings from 1.00 am to 3.30 am on 19 July to facilitate late night match screening.
Bars, clubs and microbreweries across the Hyderabad Core Urban Region (CURE) area have been permitted to remain open beyond their regular business hours to allow football fans to watch the FIFA World Cup 2026 third-place playoff and final.
The Telangana Prohibition and Excise Department issued orders on Friday, 17 July, granting an extension of operating hours for licensed 2B bars, C1 clubs, TD1 and TD2 establishments, and microbreweries in Hyderabad, Secunderabad and surrounding Commissionerate’s.
As per the orders issued by Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise C. Hari Kiran, establishments can remain open till 4.30 am on the intervening night of 18 and 19 July, when the FIFA World Cup third-place playoff will be played.
For the FIFA World Cup final, scheduled on 19 July, the licensed establishments have been allowed to operate till 3 am on the intervening night of 19 and 20 July.
The extension follows a representation made by the Telangana Bar and Restaurants Owners Association and a government memo issued by the Revenue Department on 17 July.
The order applies to licensed 2B bars, C1 (in-house) clubs, TD1 and TD2 establishments of the Tourism Development Corporation, and microbreweries located within the Telangana Core Urban Region. The department said the extended timings are subject to strict compliance with all applicable excise rules and regulations.
The Commissioner has directed Deputy Commissioners of Prohibition and Excise in Greater Hyderabad, Malkajgiri and Cyberabad, along with District Prohibition and Excise Officers of Hyderabad, Secunderabad, L.B. Nagar, Malkajgiri, Qutbullapur and Serilingampally, to take necessary action for implementation of the order.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, on Tuesday, 14 July, announced that, permitted hotels and restaurants in Bengaluru would be able to extend food service timings from 1.00 am to 3.30 am on 14, 15 and 19 July to facilitate late night match screenings.
The decision was taken following a request from the National Restaurant Association of India.
Taking to X, the chief minister wrote: “Football inspires millions across the world, and the FIFA World Cup is a celebration that fans eagerly look forward to. Following a request from the National Restaurant Association of India, our government has permitted hotels and restaurants in Bengaluru to extend food service timings from 1.00 am to 3.30 am on July 14, 15 and 19 to facilitate late night match screenings.”
“This decision has been taken while ensuring that public safety, law and order, and the convenience of citizens remain our highest priorities. I urge everyone to enjoy the matches responsibly and extend full cooperation to the authorities,” he added.
