Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar in Hyderabad on Thursday, 2 March, exuded confidence that the party would come to power in the next Assembly elections and hoist the saffron flag in the state.

The party’s victory in the three Northeastern states on Thursday proved that the wave of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was continuing in the country, he said.

Participating in the celebrations organised to mark the victory of the BJP in the three states after poll results were announced on Friday, he said the people in Telangana were realising the facts and wrong policies adopted by the BRS government.

“The people are now ready to support the BJP in the next elections,” he said.

If the mounting debts of the state had to be cleared and to continue the welfare schemes apart from ensuring overall development, the BJP must come to power, he said.

‘Will implement welfare schemes’

If the BJP was voted to power, various welfare schemes would be implemented effectively, he said.

“We will build houses for all the poor apart from providing free education and healthcare to the people. We will also provide crop damage compensation to the farmers,” he said.

Sanjay claimed the people in the country were eagerly waiting for the BJP’s victory in Telangana.

Expressing happiness over the victory of the BJP in the Northeastern states, he thanked the people for supporting the party during the elections. People from Ayodhya to Agartala were chanting “Namo Namami”, he said.

He thanked the prime minister for allocating more funds for the overall development of the Northeastern states.

Earlier, there was a situation in the Northeastern states where the BJP could not hoist the party flag, he said, adding that the situation was now different as the party emerged victorious in three states.

The Communists continued to suffer major setbacks in the elections and would lose the existing base if they continue to form an alliance with the Congress, which was also struggling to come to power, he said.

The party activists celebrated the BJP’s victory by bursting firecrackers and exchanging sweets with the leaders at a marriage hall in Bongulur in the suburbs of Hyderabad.

During the birthday celebrations of former MP Boora Narsaiah Goud, Sanjay alleged that the BRS government swindled the funds allocated by the Central government for the construction of toilets and the Haritha Haram programme in Telangana.

He criticised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for failing to rise the challenge posed by him for a debate on the development of Telangana and funds allocated by the Centre to the state.

Murders, suicides, rapes, and ragging incidents were higher in Telangana compared to united Andhra Pradesh, he added.

The AIMIM supporters were resorting to murder and rape with the support of the BRS government, Sanjay alleged.
