A majority of Malayalam films releasing in April 2023 are helmed by newcomers and youngsters.
However, veteran Priyadarshan’s Corona Papers grabbed much attention as the trailer suggested it to be a thriller, a different genre from usual Priyadarshan films. Let’s check the April watchlist:
Corona Papers is a brand-new movie- directed by veteran director Priyadarshan. The film is inspired by the Tamil movie 8 Thottakal directed by Sri Ganesh.
The trailer of Corona Papers promises an intriguing procedural drama with action sequences.
The movie features Shane Nigam, with Shine Tom Chacko, Sidhique, and Jean Paul Lal in pivotal roles.
Gayathrie Shankar, who became popular with her performance in Nna Thaan Case Kodu is one of the heroines. It also stars Sandhya Shetty, Maniyanpilla Raju, Vijilesh, PP, and Srikant Murali.
The movie is produced by Four Frames Sound Company. The cinematography is by Divakar Mani and the music is by KP. The movie will be released on 6 April.
Kunchacko Boban and Jayasurya will be seen in the upcoming film Enthada Saji (What’s up Saji) which is all set to release on 8 April for Easter. It is scripted and directed by Godfy Xavier Babu.
Jithu Damodar is the cinematographer. Ratheesh Raj is the editor. William Francis composed the music.
Nivetha Thomas plays the female lead Enthada Saji.
Kunchako Boban and Jayasurya have a successful collaboration in films like Swapnakoodu, Gulumaal, and Three Kings.
The sneak peek video released by the filmmakers promises several lighter moments in the film.
Adi (Slap), which has Ahaana Krishna and Shine Tom Chacko in leads, will hit the screens for Vishu on April 14.

Adi is directed by Prasobh Vijayan who previously directed Lilli and Anveshanam. It is produced by Malayalam stars Dulquer Salmaan and Jim Varghese.
Kadina Kadoramee Andakadaham (It’s Difficult to Live in This World) will join the films that are releasing on Eid. The movie will have Basil Joseph in the lead role and is set to release on 21 April.

The music is composed by Vishnu Vijay who earlier scored the super hit songs of Thallumala. The lyrics of “Jil Jil Jil” are penned by Muri and TK Kutyali.
The song celebrates a wedding in Malabar and is sung by Vishnu Vijay, Varsha Ranjith, and Meera Prakash.
Sulaikha Manzil revolves around a Muslim wedding in Malabar and will have all elements for a festival release.
It features Lukman Awaran, Chemban Vinod Jose, and Anarkali Marakkar in lead roles. Ganapathy, Sabreesh Verma, Mamukoya, Jolly Chirayat, Amalda Lis, Deepa Thomas, Adri Jo, Archana Padmini, and Nirmal Palazhi are the other actors.
It is produced by Chemban Vinod Jose, Subish Kannanchery, and Sameer Karat under the banner of Chembosky Motion Pictures.
