Vineeth Sreenivasan’s next to begin soon

After scoring a hit with Varshangalkku Shesham, Malayalam actor-director Vineeth Sreenivasan is all set to direct his next film.

Visakh Subramaniam will produce this yet-to-be-titled film under the banner of Merryland Cinemas. The production house is collaborating with Vineeth Sreenivasan for the third time. Their previous ventures—Hridayam (2022) and Varshangalkku Shesham—were box-office successes.

Vineeth Sreenivasan’s next is written by Noble Babu Thomas, who acted in Helen (2019) and Philips (2023). This is the first time that the actor-director is helming a film written by another writer. He usually writes the script for all his flicks.

The music will be composed by Shaan Rahman, a frequent collaborator with Vineeth. They worked together for Malarvaadi Arts Club (2010), Thattathin Marayathu (2012), and Jacobinte Swargarajyam (2016).

Jomon T John—who earlier worked with the actor-director-singer-writer in Thattathin Marayathu, Thira (2013) and Jacobinte Swargarajyam—is handling the cinematography of this untitled Malayalam movie.

Interestingly, Vineeth, Shaan, and John are close friends.

More details about the cast and crew of Vineeth Sreenivasan’s next directorial are yet to be revealed.

Vineeth’s films have a separate fan base as he is known to make feel-good dramas. However, there is a set of people on social media who have been critical of the director for making films with melodramatic scenes.

When Hridayam and Varshangalkku Shesham faced severe criticism, the filmmaker stated that he wouldn’t make movies for people who criticise films on social media platforms for the sake of criticism.

Interestingly, a majority of Vineeth Sreenivasan’s films are blockbusters.

Varshangalkku Shesham was released along with Fahadh Faasil’s Aavesham for Vishu. The movie turned out to be a success by collecting ₹70 crore worldwide.

Meanwhile, Vineeth Sreenivasan will be next seen in Oru Jaathi Oru Jaathakam under the direction of M Mohanan.
