Varshangalkku Shesham to hit OTT in five languages

Varshangalkku Shesham, the period drama helmed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, hit the screens on 11 April this year.

Despite competing with major blockbusters, this one considerably did well at the box office. Finally, the film is set for its OTT release on Sony LIV.

According to reports, the Pranav Mohanlal and Dhyan Sreenivasan-starrer will be available in five languages, including Malayalam, from 7 June.

Initially, reports indicated that Varshangalkku Shesham would stream on the OTT platform Sony LIV in its original Malayalam language. However, this disappointed many fans who were hoping for dubbed versions on the popular streaming site.

But now, we hear that the Vineeth Sreenivasan directorial will also be available in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi in the OTT space.

However, Sony LIV and the makers of Varshangalkku Shesham are yet to comment on this development.

All about Varshangalkku Shesham

Varshangalkku Shesham enjoyed a successful box office run, lasting over 50 days and grossing more than ₹83 crore worldwide.

The movie, also featuring Nivin Pauly in a pivotal role, was anticipated to be the Vishu winner of 2024.

However, in box office earnings, it fell short of surpassing Aavesham (2024), the Fahadh Faasil starrer directed by Jithu Madhavan.

Varshangalkku Shesham delves into Kodambakkam through the lives of Venu and Murali, portrayed by Dhyan Sreenivasan and Pranav Mohanlal respectively.

Filmed over 40 days across locations in Kerala, Coimbatore, and Pollachi, the movie recreated the Kodambakkam area and Chennai studios in Aroor, Kochi.

The narrative centres on the bond between Venu (portrayed by Dhyan Sreenivasan), who dreams of becoming a scriptwriter and director, and Murali (played by Pranav Mohanlal), a passionate musician.

Following the popular path of the 1970s, they embark on a journey to Madras, chasing their cinematic ambitions. Their path is marked by the unpredictable hands of fate, bestowing upon them both the spotlight of success and the shadows of defeat.

Varshangalkku Shesham features a cast including Kalyani Priyadarshan, Aju Varghese, Basil Joseph, Neeraj Madhav, and Neeta Pillai, alongside Ashwath Lal, Kalesh Ramnad, Arjun Lal, Nikhil Nair, and Shaan Rahman, among others.

Indie musician Amrit Ramnath, son of the versatile vocalist Bombay Jayashri, is the music composer.

The visual storytelling is captured through the lens of cinematographer Viswajith, while editor Ranjan Abraham shapes the narrative flow.
