Director Rakesh Sashii loses the plot in the second half. The climax fizzles out and the content may keep family audience away!
Urvasivo Rakshasivo (Telugu)
Allu Sirish is back after a three-year hiatus with an urban romantic drama, Urvasivo Rakshashivo. The film, directed by Rakesh Sashii, has Anu Emmanuel as the female lead.
The movie is an official Telugu remake of the 2018 Tamil film, Pyaar Prema Kaadhal.
The story revolves around Sri Kumar (Allu Sirish), a middle-class guy. He falls in love with Sindhuja (Anu Emmanuel), a modern and independent girl, who works in his company.
Sindhuja reciprocates his love. Sri soon realises that Sindhuja doesn’t believe in love and relationships. What happens next forms the crux of the movie.
Allu Sirish has improved as an actor. He is impressive as Sri. He performed reasonably well and with ease.
Anu Immanuel gets a meaty role. Her modern look and urban characterisation work pretty well. She stands out in the second half.
Vennela Kishore mesmerises with his humour in the first half. Sunil entertains in a few parts.
The cinematography is decent and the production values by Geetha Arts are rich. Dialogues do not have much recall value, except for one or two lines. Editing is average.
The music is decent and the background music is also quite alright.
Director Rakesh Sashii did a good job in the first half and an average job with the film.
Urvasivo Rakshasivo sheds light on modern-day relationships and is narrated entertainingly throughout the first half. Good comedy and romance stand as highlights.
The interval bang is impressive and sets decent expectations for the second half. Though the film has a routine premise, the narration had made it entertaining.
A normal and simple storyline creates a sense of repetitiveness in the second half and the movie drags towards the end. The director seems to have lost the plot in the second half. A better direction in the second half would have elevated this flick to a different level.
The climax fizzles out and the content may keep the family audience away. However, the breezy first half and the heroine’s characterisation may connect well with youngsters.
On the whole, Urvasivo Rakshasivo is a one-time watch!
