Kannada star Shiva Rajkumar is set to feature in a crucial role in Ram Charan Tej and Buchi Babu Sana’s next, tentatively titled RC16. The Production banner, Vriddhi Cinemas, shared this update on its official X handle on the occasion of Shiva Rajkumar’s 62nd birthday on Friday, 12 July.
“Welcoming ‘Karunada Chakravarthy’ @NimmaShivanna on board for a pivotal role that resonates with his stature,” the post began, further extending the wishes to the actor on his birthday. Team #RC16 wishes #Shivanna a very Happy Birthday,” the post read.
Buchi Babu Sana, who shot to fame with Uppena (2021), is collaborating with Venkata Satish Kilaru of Vriddhi Cinemas for this big-budget venture. Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings are jointly presenting it.
Touted to be a pan-India entertainer, RC16 caught the attention of film lovers because of its ensemble cast, brilliant technicians, and high budget. According to reports, the film is being shot with a budget of around ₹300 crore.
Two-time Oscar Award-winning composer AR Rahman is scoring the music for this Ram Charan-starrer. R Rathnavelu is the cinematographer and Avinash Kolla is the production designer.
RC16 features Bollywood actor Janhvi Kapoor as the leading lady. Interestingly, Janhvi is debuting in the Telugu film industry with Jr NTR’s Devara: Part 1, which will be released in October for Dasara.
According to a press release from the makers, RC16 will cast many celebrated actors from across languages, apart from Shiva Rajkumar, in key roles. More details about the other cast and crew will be revealed soon.
While the movie is set against the backdrop of North Andhra Pradesh, there are rumours that it will be titled “Peddi”.
Meanwhile, Ram Charan recently wrapped up the shooting for his next with Shankar, Game Changer. The pan-India political thriller is likely to be released in December.
Game Changer showcases Ram Charan as a righteous IAS officer. He teamed up again with Bollywood actor Kiara Advani after Vinaya Vidheya Rama (2019), a box-office disaster. The film marks producer Dil Raju’s 50th production venture.
