Prabhas, after scoring a hit with Kalki 2898 AD, was gearing up for the release of The Raja Saab— a horror comedy.
While the film was slated to release on 10 April, a summer release, according to reports, the film will now be further postponed.
According to a Hindustan Times report, the film is postponed owing to a delay in post-production. A source told Hindustan Times, “Maruthi’s film is VFX heavy, and he wants it to look seamless so the audience can have a fun experience. It has not yet been finalised when the film will be released, but there are still some good spots available throughout the year when it can be released. But a new date will only be announced once they make good headway on post-production.”
The new date is expected to be announced once the team makes considerable progress in post-production.
The 45-second teaser released earlier, showed Prabhas, in the titular role, arriving on a motorcycle, wearing a suit and sunglasses, and holding a bouquet. He confidently admires his reflection in a car mirror.
After a long hiatus, Prabhas returns in a vibrant and dashing avatar that fans will surely admire. Prabhas will sport a thick beard and long hair in it.
Produced by People Media Factory with music by SS Thaman, The Raja Saab features an ensemble cast including Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar in key roles, along with Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Jisshu Sengupta, and Brahmanandam.
Meanwhile, Prabhas is also working on Hanu Raghavapudi’s film. Additionally, Prabhas is set to collaborate with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga on an action film titled Spirit, where he may portray a cop.
Prabhas is also working on Salaar 2 with Prashanth Neel and a sequel to Kalki 2898 AD.
