Ram Charan's 'Game Changer' to release for Christmas. (X)
Filmmaker S Shankar’s Game Changer, starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, is one of the year’s most anticipated films. The political thriller, initially set for a Dasara release, has been postponed to a later date.
On 21 July, at the pre-release event for Dhanush’s Raayan in Hyderabad, producer Dil Raju of Sri Venkateswara Creations confirmed a December release for Game Changer. When the audience chanted the film’s title, he smiled saying, “Game Changer? Let’s meet for Christmas.”
Ram Charan finished shooting his portion for Game Changer in July, but some parts are still pending. The remaining shoot is expected to be completed in a few weeks.
Announced in February 2021, filming for Game Changer began in October of that year. Director Shankar praised Ram Charan as “fierce and daring on screen and a darling off-screen” while sharing the title reveal video on social media.
The project was delayed as director Shankar was busy with the post-production of Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2. Karthik Subbaraj wrote the story for Game Changer, with the screenplay by Shankar, Vivek Velmurugan, and Sai Madhav Burra.
Ram Charan plays an IAS officer who becomes the chief minister, reportedly portraying three roles. The film also features Jayaram, Srikanth, Sunil, SJ Suryah, Anjali, Samuthirakani, and Nasser.
The music is by S Thaman, the cinematography is by Tirru, and the editing is by Shameer Muhammed.
Game Changer will be released in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi, with the official release date yet to be announced.

Recently, a 52-second leaked video from an airport shows Ram Charan and other actors near SUVs and a chartered plane. The camera captures an actor dressed as a politician throwing a paper at his staff before heading to the plane, while Ram turns and gets into his car.
Some people sharing the video on X speculated that “Shankar is cooking something against the government,” while many fans expressed frustration over the leaks.
This isn’t the first time set clips have leaked online. During outdoor shoots at RK Beach in Visakhapatnam, numerous photos and videos of Ram and Kiara’s looks surfaced before any official announcements. Additionally, a clip of Srikanth filming with Ram was also leaked earlier.
Expectations are high for Game Changer as it follows Ram Charan’s role in SS Rajamouli’s RRR (2022). He also has upcoming films with Buchi Babu Sana and Sukumar.
In a promotional event, director Shankar was asked if working on Indian 2 and Game Changer simultaneously affected the quality of Indian 2. He firmly stated that both films received significant attention and his team worked extra hard to ensure high quality.
“I have never compromised on quality. The creative work for both films was completed well in advance, and while shooting one, my focus remained solely on that project,” Shankar explained.
