Tamil actor Vishal is on a new mission. The actor is gearing up to debut as a director with Thupparivalan 2.
It is the sequel to his 2017 superhit investigative thriller Thupparivalan, directed by Mysskin. It was bankrolled by actor Vishal’s own banner Vishal Film Factory.
In 2020, Vishal and Mysskin decided to do a sequel to the film. Indeed, a first-look poster was also released in March 2020. But, it did not materialise due to differences and the COVID-19 pandemic.
But now, Vishal has announced that he will be directing Thupparivalan 2.
In his X post, the actor also revealed that he would soon start the location recce for the movie in London, Azerbaijan, and Malta.
In his post, Vishal wrote: “And my journey begins finally after 25 years. My dream, my aspiration, and my first thought of “wat I wanna be in life has come true. Yes, I take charge of a new responsibility, the most challenging in my career, that of a debutante director. Here we go finally. Off to London, Azerbaijan and Malta for the recce of my first directorial debut #Thupparivalan2 & #Detective2. (sic)” He also expressed hope that fans will support him as a director, just like how they have stood by him as an actor.”

Vishal seemed to have come out on good terms with filmmaker Mysskin because the actor thanked the filmmaker in his X post.
“As a director too, thanks to #Mysskin sir for bringing my dream earlier. Don’t worry I never abandon anyone’s baby in real life or reel life. Will make it reach its destination, sir,” he wrote.
In 2020, Vishal issued a press statement saying that Mysskin had initially fixed ₹13 crore budget for the movie but spent an additional ₹35 lakh on it. He also accused the filmmaker of starting the film’s shoot without proper planning in London.
Mysskin reacted to this statement by saying that he must protect Tamil Nadu from Vishal and had said that he would expose Vishal’s true colours and that they were going to “war” together.
