Director-actor Mysskin, who parted ways on a bitter note with actor Vishal during the making of the investigative thriller Thupparivaalan 2, has now made it clear that he wishes to end the stand-off.
Addressing the audio and trailer launch of GV Prakash-starrer Adiye, Mysskin recollected that he called Vishal “Porukki” (cheap) during their fight and people started using the word as a trope.
“I called him a ‘porukki’ because we were having a fight. But actually, Vishal is a good man and the friendship between us was good. I miss him badly. But no, he will not miss me. I used that word when we were having a fight. Everybody is using it as a trope. I am looking to stop using this word,” he added.
Mysskin also stated that he was praying for Vishal and his films. “The time we worked together was extraordinary,” he recalled and hastened to add, “But this does not mean I will work with him again.”
Mysskin and Vishal became quite close after Mysskin’s film Thupparivaalan (2017), which featured the latter as a private investigator, emerged as a super hit.
The film’s success prompted the duo to announce a sequel to the thriller which was heavily inspired by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s legendary character Sherlock Holmes.
However, Thupparivaalan 2, which was to be shot in Canada on a grand scale, ran into trouble when a difference of opinion arose over production costs between Mysskin and Vishal, who was also the producer of the film.
Both levelled allegations at each other, with Mysskin finally choosing to walk out of the project. Vishal announced that he would be directing the movie.
Even after parting ways, both the director and actor kept taking potshots at each other at any and every given opportunity.
It is under these circumstances that Mysskin is now looking to put an end to the dispute.
