Vijay's GOAT censored with U/A

Thalapathy Vijay’s The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) has been censored with U/A. Director Venkat Prabhu announced this news on his X platform on Wednesday, 21 August.

While sharing the update on the GOAT getting censored, the filmmaker also posted a picture of Vijay sitting with a machine gun in his hand.

Earlier, the makers launched the much-awaited trailer for the movie, where Vijay appeared as Gandhi, a skilled spy and hostage negotiator for a secret intelligence unit.

The trailer boasted several high-octane action sequences, which Vijay pulled off effortlessly. It also has an impressive CGI work.

Further, the GOAT trailer featured the star hero fighting anti-social elements inside a moving train and performing incredible stunts in the air using parachutes.

Vijay’s dual role of father and son evoked a warm response from film buffs as the makers used the de-ageing technique to showcase a young Vijay. Additionally, the late actor-politician Vijayakanth was created with the help of AI technology.

According to the makers, the film’s trailer crossed 50 million views within 24 hours of its launch.

The GOAT trailer also introduced the main actors in the film, including Sneha, Laila, Prashanth, Prabhudheva, Jayaram, Mohan, and Ajmal Amir.

Produced by AGS Entertainment, GOAT casts Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female lead. It also casts Yogi Babu, Vaibhav, Premgi Amaren, Yugendran Vasudevan and Akilan a key roles.

Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing the tunes and background score for this ambitious project. However, the two singles, released a couple of months ago, did not receive a positive reception from Vijay’s fans and music lovers. They criticised Yuvan’s tunes by comparing them with musician Anirudh Ravichander’s work.

The Venkat Prabhu directorial boasts cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni, editing by Venkat Raajen, and stunts choreographed by Dhilip Subbarayan.

Vijay-starrer GOAT will hit the big screens worldwide on 5 September, coinciding with Vinayaka Chaturthi.
