Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Suriya 44 is one of Suriya’s anticipated films, with elements of romance, humour, and war.
The movie also features Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, and Sujith Shankar in crucial roles.
The film tentatively titled Suriya 44 went on set in June 2024, and wrapped up shooting on Sunday, 6 October.
Suirya took to X, to announce the news and share his feelings about the shoot and the film.
He wrote: “A wholesome, happy shoot got done across several locations… Lots of memories with the super talented cast & crew… I made a brother for life. Karthik Subbaraj thank you & our team for making #Suriya44 a memorable experience. #ShootWrap. ”
The actor also shared a picture with the film crew.

In August, during the shoot of the film Suriya met with a minor accident. The accident occurred when he was filming for an action sequence in Ooty. Due to this the shoot was delayed for a short while.
Apart from Suriya 44, Suriya is gearing up for the release of his most-awaited pan-Indian film Kanguva on 14 November. UV Creations and Studio Green jointly produced it.
The gory period drama, directed by Siruthai Siva, is touted to be an ambitious fantasy action entertainer. Kanguva is reportedly made with a massive budget of over ₹300 crore.
The Tamil film also marks the debut of Bobby Deol in the South Indian language. It also casts Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, Marimuthu, Deepa Venkat, Ravi Raghavendra and KS Ravikumar in supporting roles.
Kanguva producer Gnanavel Raja also announced that there will be a sequel for the movie. According to him, Kanguva will conclude with an intriguing twist, which will make way for setting the stage for a sequel. He stated that filming for the sequel will begin by late 2025 and Kanguva Part 2 will mostly be released in 2027.
