Climax portions of Vijay's 'GOAT' to be shot in Thiruvananthapuram

Director Venkat Prabhu’s forthcoming Tamil film with Thalapathy Vijay, The Greatest Of All Time (GOAT)has evoked huge expectations from the audience and industry insiders.

Well, GOAT will be one of the last projects of Vijay, who announced a break from films in the wake of his entry into politics.

On 2 February, the actor announced the launch of his political party — Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam.

Now, the latest news is that the climax portions of Vijay’s GOAT will be shot in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram.

The shooting will be held in three locations in the city, including Greenfield Stadium and the international airport.

Reports say the GOAT team will film a few scenes with around 3,000 junior artistes at the Greenfield Stadium.

Vijay will reach Thiruvananthapuram on 18 March and join the sets the same day.

The climax portions were supposed to be shot in Si Lanka, but it was cancelled.

There were reports that director Venkat Prabhu reached Thiruvananthapuram to scout for the locations.

Vijay in dual roles

In GOAT, Vijay will play dual roles as father and son. The father’s character has reportedly been developed using the de-ageing technology.

The makers of GOAT announced the title on New Year’s Eve. They also released the first-look poster.

Interestingly, in the poster, both characters appear to be dressed like paratroopers, with a flight above and a parachute behind them.

The poster also had the tagline: “Light can devour darkness but darkness cannot consume the light.”

Reports also say that the OTT giant Netflix has bagged the digital rights of GOAT.

GOAT was also shot in Moscow. The team recently wrapped the Chennai schedule.

Produced by AGS Entertainment, the film casts Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female lead.

It also features Mohan, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Laila, Jayaram, and Yogi Babu in key roles.

It has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and the cinematography is by Siddhartha Nuni.

The editing is by Venkat Raajen and the stunts are by Dhilip Subbarayan.
