Arun Vijay files complaint against YouTube channel for derogatory remarks against his family

Arun Vijay’s father Vijayakumar married Muthukannu in 1969. They have three kids — Kavita Vijayakumar, Anita Vijayakumar, and Arun Vijay.

After the death of Muthukannu, Vijayakumar married actor Manjula in 1976. They have three daughters — Vanitha Vijayakumar, Preetha Vijayakumar, and Sridevi. Manjula passed away in 2013 due to jaundice.

However, a YouTube channel had been spreading derogatory news about Vijayakumar and his late wives.

In his complaint, Arun Vijay said, “A YouTube channel made a video with defamatory comments about me, my father Vijayakumar, my late mother Muthukannu and my late stepmother Manjula. My family has been distressed. Action should be taken against the rumour-mongers.”

An action is yet to be taken against the YouTube channel.

Arun Vijay was last seen in the action thriller Mission: Chapter 1 (2024), directed by AL Vijay. His next is Vanagaan, written, directed and co-produced by Bala under B Studios.

It stars Roshni Prakash as the female lead. It is a GV Prakash musical.

Tamil star Suriya was initially roped in as the protagonist in Vanangaan. However, he opted out of the film reportedly after a few changes were made to the script and Bala’s inability to stick to schedule.

Similarly, Mamitha Baiju, who was selected to play the leading lady, also quit the project for some reason.
