Some movies come with titles that we all wonder about.

At times, it is better not to find any answers to such wonders — just like in the case of Sugar Factory.

Well, here, it is the name of a pub located in Goa. It is the epicentre of the whole two-plus hours of saga and not the place where raw sugar is produced with sugarcane.

Is it worth visiting this factory for some entertainment? Let’s find out:

A popular female YouTuber (vlogger) visits Goa along with her cameraman in search of some interesting content.

She lands in “Sugar Factory”, a pub, and eventually finds Arya portrayed by Darling Krishna.

Arya doesn’t believe in love since he is practical and always listens to his brain (mind) rather than his heart.

Soon, we learn about a different kind of love story featuring Sonal Monteiro as Aditi, the female lead. Aditi, like Arya, has similar feelings towards love.

Arya shares not one but two of his love stories with the vlogger. One in the first half and the second one, post-interval, marks the entry of Advithi Shetty.

Long story short, will “pure” love prove Arya and Aditi wrong? Who will Arya finally marry? Watch it at your own risk!

Ask any filmmaker about the most vital aspect of a movie, and they would instantly reply that it is the “story”.

Sugar Factory neither has any heart-touching romantic tale nor offers any rib-tickling comedy.

Like it or not, we live in an electronic age, all connected through social media and wireless communications. While one can argue its pros and cons, we cannot ignore that we are dependent on it — for personal work, profession or entertainment!

The whole narrative of this film in one line is — “I do not believe in love, but love is so strong that it will find its way in the end!”

Right from the ordinary tale of boring love stories to unimpressive performances and making, including the music, Sugar Factory offers very little in the name of entertainment.

The only relief is Darling Krishna, who manages to sail the love boat to some distance until it sinks to rock bottom in no time.

Verdict

There is nothing sugary about this film as it leaves a bitter experience.

Not even Darling Krishna, who has been riding high on the success of Kousalya Supraja Rama (2023), can save it from becoming a disaster.
