Ravi Teja's 'Kick' to be re-released on 1 March. (X)
Telugu actor Ravi Teja created a sensation in the industry in 2009 with the all-time blockbuster hit Kick. The action-comedy directed by Surender Reddy received positive reviews and was termed a paisa vasool entertainer.
Kick is in the news again as the makers are re-releasing it in theatres on 1 March.
Written by Vakkantham Vamsi, the Telugu movie starred Ileana and Shaam (his Telugu debut) in key roles. Post-release of the flick, Shaam became popular as Kick Shaam.
Kick was remade in Hindi with the same name starring Salman Khan and it became a blockbuster, too. It was remade in Tamil as Thillalangadi (2010), and in Kannada as Super Ranga (2014).
Its sequel Kick 2 was released in 2015. It was headlined by Ravi Teja and helmed by Surender Reddy. The Mass Maharaja played a dual role in it — as father and son.
Ileana teamed up with Ravi Teja for the second time in Kick after Khatarnak (2006). Her scintillating performance as Naina made the hearts of her fans skip a beat. Also, her onscreen chemistry with Ravi Teja drew applause from the viewers.
Brahmanandam’s Halwa Raj/Parugu Prakash Raj character had the audience in splits. His sequences with Ileana and Ravi Teja were one of the major highlights of the film.
Further, S Thaman’s soundtrack topped the chartbusters for several years and continues to be the favourite for music lovers.
The re-release news about Kick has doubled the excitement of Ravi Teja’s fans, who cannot wait to watch their favourite film in theatres again. The advance bookings for the 4K version of the movie have already begun and are in full swing.
Meanwhile, Ravi Teja’s Eagle will make its OTT debut on ETV Win and Amazon Prime Video on 2 March. It is directed by Karthik Gattamaneni and produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under the banner of People Media Factory.
Furthermore, the Hindi version of the actor’s Tiger Nageswara Rao (2023) is being streamed on Amazon Prime Video. It was directed by Vamsee.
Starring Nupur Sanon and Gayatri Bhardwaj as the leading ladies, Tiger Nageswara Rao also featured Renu Desai, Anupam Kher, Murali Sharma, and Jisshu Sengupta in key roles.
As of now, Ravi Teja is busy with Mr Bachchan being helmed by Harish Shankar.
