The director said the upcoming film won't be on the lines of 'Guruvayoor Ambala Nadayil' but will be made in his signature style.

Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran and director Vipin Das have delivered a blockbuster with Guruvayoor Ambala Nadayil (2024). The Malayalam movie, also starring Basil Joseph, Nikihila Vimal, and Anaswara Rajan, grossed over ₹70 crore at the global box office.
The successful collaboration is all set to repeat soon. In an interview with a YouTube channel, filmmaker Vipin Das confirmed that he will soon direct a family entertainer with Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Earlier, it was reported that the Vipin Das-Prithviraj Sukumaran film would materialise after some time since the director was working on a movie with Fahadh Faasil and SJ Surya. Nevertheless, the project has been pushed to next year due to the busy schedule of Fahadh Faasil.
In the interview with the YouTube channel, Vipin Das assured that this upcoming film with Prithviraj Sukumaran won’t be anything like Guruvayoor Ambala Nadayil. He recounted that Prithviraj Sukumaran approached him saying he wanted to act in a film made with his signature style (like Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey and Anthakshari, both 2022 releases).
Vipin Das said the forthcoming flick will feature a fresh cast, with Prithviraj Sukumaran doing the lead role. It will also have more nuanced and character-driven narratives.
Meanwhile, the filmmaker is on cloud nine as his latest release Vaazha turned out to be a blockbuster. He wrote the script and also bankrolled the movie.
Following the unbelievable success of the Vaazha, the makers announced a sequel, titled Vaazha 2. Vipin Das also hinted at the possibility of making more sequels to Vaazha.
Meanwhile, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s directorial L2: Empuraan, a sequel to Mohanlal’s Lucifer (2019), is currently under production. the team recently finished the Gujarat schedule.
He recently won the Best Actor Award at the Kerala State Film Awards 2024 for his stellar performance in Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life) directed by Blessy.
Prithviraj Sukumaran’s next film is Vilayath Buddha directed by Jayan Nambiar. The actor is also part of the Salaar 2, a sequel to the blockbuster Telugu film Salaar: Part 1-The Ceasefire.
Some of his other announced projects include Kaaliyan and Khalifa. However, there have been no official updates on these films so far.
