Mammootty’s first release of this year — Bramayugam is all set to release on 15 February. Every update of this movie has been trending in social media as the movie boasts of having a peculiar genre not so common in Malayalam cinema in modern times.
Bramayugam will be released only in black and white format, confirmed the lead actor of the movie Mammootty in his Facebook post.
There were earlier speculations about this as the teaser of the movie was also in black and white.
Black and white was used in films to showcase the flashback scenes. In the recent film Mukundan Unni Associates (2022), some areas are shown in grey shade.
But an entire Malayalam movie shot in black and white is something interesting.
This new development has become a topic of discussion as some netizens even said it would be good to see a black-and-white movie for the new generation.
An intriguing teaser of Mammootty’s next Bramayugam was unveiled by the makers on 11 January. In the teaser, the makers give a glimpse of the horror thriller and it seems that the scenes are shot in black and white.
Mammootty looks terrific as a person who performs sorcery. We get a glimpse of him at the end of the teaser.
On New Year, Mammootty posted a new poster of Bramayugam with the tagline: “The Age of Madness”. In the poster, Mammootty is seen with a crown on his head.
For Bramayugam, the Malayalam superstar joined hands with young director Rahul Sadasivan whose previous flick Bhoothakaalam (2022) won rave reviews
Bramayugam is touted to be a horror thriller. The pan-Indian film will be released in five languages — Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
Director Rahul already proved his excellence in the horror genre. His Bhoothakaalam is considered one of the finest horror films released in Malayalam in recent times.
The film is scripted by Rahul Sadasivan himself. Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award-winning novelist TD Ramakrishnan is penning the dialogues.
Bramayugam is produced by Night Shift Studios and Y Not Studios. Bramayugam also stars Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, and Amalda Liz in key roles.
