Malayalam Superstar Mammootty’s lineup of films this year has good expectations.

The actor had a great year in 2023 with three of his films Nanpakal Nerath Mayakkam, Kannur Squad, and Kaathal-The Core getting appreciation from audiences and critics alike.

On New Year, he put up a new poster of the movie Bramayugam with the tagline “The Age of Madness”.

In the poster, Mammootty is seen with a crown on his head. The actor is expected to don the role of a person who performs sorcery.

For Bramayugam, the Malayalam superstar joined hands with young director Rahul Sadasivan whose previous flick Bhoothakaalam (2022) won rave reviews.

A horror thriller

Bramayugam is touted to be a horror thriller. The pan-Indian film will be released in five languages — Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.

Director Rahul proved his excellence in the horror genre. His Bhoothakaalam is considered one of the finest horror films released in Malayalam in recent times.

Earlier, Rahul Sivadas said he was overjoyed to be able to direct the legendary actor Mammootty. According to him, Bramayugam is a rooted story set in the dark ages (superstitions) in Kerala.

“I am grateful to the producers for their support in stretching the boundaries of making this into an immersive film experience. I hope it will be a treat for Mammookka fans and genre fans across the world,” he said.

Rahul Sadasivan scripted Bramayugam.

Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award-winning novelist TD Ramakrishnan is penning the dialogues.

Bramayugam is produced jointly by Night Shift Studios and Y Not Studios. It is scheduled for release in February.

The movie also stars Arjun Ashokan, Sidharth Bharathan, and Amalda Liz in key roles.

Shehnad Jalal is the cinematographer. Jothish Shankar is the production designer.

Shafique Mohamed Ali is the editor. Christo Xavier is the music composer.
