Teaser of ‘Kanakarajyam’, starring Indrans and Murali Gopy, released

Written and directed by Sagar Hari, the Malayalam movie is set to hit the theatres on 5 July.

The makers of the upcoming Malayalam thriller, Kanakarajyam, have released the teaser.

In the teaser, Murali Gopy’s character is visibly disturbed when his wife calls him up. Indrans’s Ramanandan, an ex-army man, advises Murali Gopy to stay calm and speak softly with his wife.

Earlier, the intriguing trailer of Kanakarajyam showcased Ramanandan working as a security guard at a jewellery shop. Murali Gopy’s character faces a severe financial crisis and wishes to marry off his daughter.

The story gets a major twist with Ramanandan getting arrested by the police for a crime. The events that follow promise a thrilling ride.

Kanakarajyam was written and directed by Sagar Hari. It is set to hit the theatres on 5 July.

The movie also features Sreejith Ravi, Dinesh Prabhakar, Kottayam Ramesh, Rajesh Sharma, Unni Raj, Achuthanandan, James Eliya, Harish Pengan, Remya Suresh, Saina Krishna, Sreevidya Mullassery, and Athira Patel in prominent roles.

The film has music composed by Arun Muraleedharan and cinematography handled by Abhilash Shankar. Ajeesh Anand is the editor.

Ajith Vinayaka produced Kanakarajyam under the banner of Ajith Vinayaka Films. The production house recently released Gaganachari, which is doing well in theatres. Gaganachari director Arun Chandu announced a spin-off titled Maniyan Chittappan and is also releasing the sci-fi mockumentary across India on 5 July.

Murali Gopy has been in the Malayalam industry for quite some time. He penned scripts for several films, including the blockbuster hit Lucifer (2019), directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. He also wrote critically acclaimed films like Ee Adutha Kaalathu (2012) and Left Right Left (2013).

His upcoming film as a writer is the much-awaited sequel to Lucifer, L2: Empuraan. The shooting is currently underway in Gujarat.

Muraly Gopi shot to fame with Blessy’s Bhramaram, headlined by Mohanlal and released 15 years ago. Later, he played crucial roles in projects like Ee Adutha Kaalathu, Left Right Left, Drishyam 2 (2021), and 12th Man (2022), to mention a few.
