Mohanlal-Sathyan Anthikad's film to commence soon

The shooting of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and veteran director Sathyan Anthikad’s next will commence soon. The movie has been titled Hridaya Poorvam.

Meanwhile, Sathyan Anthikad’s son Akhil Sathyan shared a picture of Mohanlal, Priyadarshan, and producer Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas on his social media account, which became the talk of the town.

Akhil Sathyan captioned it: “A super fun Mohanlal-Sathyan Anthikad film on the way.”

According to reports, the script for Hridaya Poorvam has been written by debutant Sonu TP. The cinematography is handled by Anu Moothedath. The music and background score will be composed by Justin Prabhakaran.

The film will mostly be shot in Pune and Kochi.  However, the makers are yet to officially confirm these details.

Mohanlal-Sathyan Anthikad combination delivered many phenomenal hits like Gandhi Nagar Second Street (1986), Sanmanasullavarku Samadhanam (1986), Varavelpu (1989), Nadodikattu (1987), Pattanapravesham (1988), and Ennum Eppozhum (2015).

In a radio interview in January this year, Sathyan Anthikad confirmed that his next is with Mohanlal and the script work will be completed in another three to four months. Mohanlal will play a common man in the project.

Interestingly, Hridaya Poorvam will go on floors at a time when Sathyan’s debut directorial Kurukkante Kalyanam completes its 40th year. Released in 1982, the movie featured Sukumaran, Madhavi, and Jagthy Sreekumar in lead roles. Mohanlal played a key role in it.

Sathyan Anthikad is known as a master in telling family stories, and most of his projects are feel-good films. In a career spanning five decades, he directed over 50 flicks.

Before becoming a filmmaker, he was an assistant director, lyricist, and scriptwriter. He penned lyrics for at least 12 films. He also made successful movies with actor-director Sreenivasan. They are still celebrated today.

His previous release was Makal (2022), headlined by Jayaram and Meera Jasmine.

On the other hand, Mohanlal is busy working on his new films L360, Empuraan, and RAM. His previous film, Malaikottai Vaaliban, was a flop. But Neru, released in December last year, was a super hit.
