Mammootty and Suresh Gopi's big-budget film to commence in 2025. (X)
The much anticipated Mahesh Narayanan directorial, featuring Mammootty and Suresh Gopi in the lead, has been postponed to next year. Reports claim that the film will start rolling only in 2025.
During his interaction with the media in June, Suresh Gopi confirmed that he would be sharing the scene again with Mammootty in a film to be directed by Mahesh Narayanan and produced by Mammootty Kampany. The actor promised to continue to work in films despite him being the Minister of State. However, he did not confirm the number of films he would do every year.
Further, Suresh Gopi stated that the shooting for his film with Mammootty would commence in August and that he already received a call regarding the film’s schedule. However, reports say the shooting of the movie will begin only in 2025 due to the hectic schedules of Mammootty and Suresh Gopi.
Mammootty is currently busy with the yet-untitled film directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. This will be the Malayalam debut of the Tamil director.
Meanwhile, Suresh Gopi is part of Varaham, directed by Sanal V Devan, JSK, SG251, and Maniyan Chittappan, a spin-off of Gaganachari (2024).
Mammootty and Suresh Gopi’s yet-to-be-titled film, expected to be a thriller, will also have Kunchako Boban and Fahadh Faasil in the lead roles. The other cast includes Gokul Suresh, Lena, and Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum (2023)-fame Viji Venkatesh. More details are awaited.
This is the first time a film backed by Mammootty Kampany will be headlined by another actor. Mammootty usually plays the lead in all his production ventures.
This is the seventh project of the production house, which earlier bankrolled Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam (2022), Rorschach (2022), Kannur Squad (2023), Kaathal-The Core (2023), and Turbo (2024). The Mammootty-Gautham Menon film is its sixth venture.
Mammootty and Suresh Gopi earlier collaborated for Twenty Twenty (2008) and King and Commissioner (2012). Meanwhile, director Mahesh Narayanan is popular for his critically acclaimed films Malik (2021) and Ariyippu (2022).
