Get-Set Baby first look out

The makers of Get-Set Baby have launched its first-look poster. The poster was unveiled on Monday, 1 July, marking the Doctor’s Day. Unni Mukundan dons the role of an IVF specialist in the movie.

This is the first time Unni teamed up with Nikhila Vimal. In the poster, the actors pose for a selfie with a puppy, giving off happy vibes.

Further, the first look promises that Get-Set Baby will have a refreshing theme. The film is directed by Vinay Govind, who earlier made Kili Poyi (2013) and Kohinoor (2015), starring Asif Ali in the lead.

Get-Set Baby is billed to be a light-hearted comedy-drama. It also features Chemban Vinod Jose, Johny Antony, Meera Vasudevan, Shyam Mohan, Surabhi Lakshmi, Muthumani Somasundaran, Sudheesh, Punya Elizabeth, Dinesh Prabhakar, Fara Shibla, Bhagath Manuel and Jewel Mary in crucial roles.

The Malayalam movie is co-written by debutant Anoop Ravindran and Y V Rajesh, who penned Gulumaal (2009) and Romans (2013).

Get-Set Baby also boasts an impressive technical crew, including cinematographer Alex J Pulickal, editor Arju Benn, and music director Sam CS. It is produced by Suunil Jaiin, Sajiv Soman, Prakshali Jain and Sam George under the banners of Skanda Cinemas and Kingsmen Productions.

Unni Mukundan’s previous release in Malayalam was Jai Ganesh. Though the film got mixed reviews, it didn’t do well in theatres. However, his Tamil movie, Garudan (2024), where he appeared as a villain raked in moolah in both Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The actor is currently working on Marco, a spin-off of the 2018 film Mikhael, headlined by Nivin Pauly. The makers claimed that Marco, directed by Haneef Adeni, is the most violent film ever to be made in Malayalam.

Unni’s long-delayed Mindiyum Paranjum will be released soon, its director Arun Bose told South First.

Similarly, his Gandharva Jr is waiting for its release date.

The Malayalam actor was recently elected as the treasurer of the AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists).

Meanwhile, Nikhila Vimal is basking in the success of her latest outing, Guruvayoor Ambala Nadayil, which has Prithviraj Sukumaran and Basil Joseph in the lead roles. Her web series Perilloor Premier League (2024) received a rousing reception after its premiere in Disney+ Hotstar.

She will be next seen in Oru Jaathi Oru Jaathakam, where Vineeth Sreenivasan plays the protagonist. Also, he is wielding the megaphone for the flick.
