Ashiq Abu’s ‘Rifle Club’ to release on 19 December

Rifle Club release date

Ashiq Abu’s next directorial Rifle Club finally has a release date. The action drama is set to release on 19 December ahead of the Christmas weekend.

The film started rolling in March 2024 and wrapped up the shoot by July 2024.  Ashiq Abu is known for his critically acclaimed projects like Salt N Pepper (2011), Maayanadhi(2017), and Virus (2019).

The release date update was shared by the makers on X, along with the poster of the film. “The date is LOCKED Rifle Club Movie in cinemas from 19th December,” the post read.

Multi-starrer 

It boasts an ensemble cast — Dileesh Pothan, Vani Vishwanath, Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap, Hanumankind, The Baby Jean, Vincy Aloshious, Vishnu Agasthya, Darshana Rajendran, Surabhi Lakshmi, Ramzan Muhammad, Vijayaraghavan, and Unnimaya Prasad.

Rifle Club also marks the acting debut of rapper Hanumankind, who gained international fame with his hit English song “Big Dawgs”.

The Bengaluru-based artist will portray Bheera, the volatile son of a character played by Anurag Kashyap.

Hanumankind’s previous work includes the track “The Last Dance” for the Malayalam film Aavesham (2024), featuring Fahadh Faasil.

Soon after the wrap-up, the makers started releasing character posters of the actors. Convincing Star Suresh Krishna is set to play the role of Dr Lazar, Surabhi Lakshmi as Susan, Dileesh Pothan as  Secretary Avaran, Vani Viswanath as Ittiyanam, Vishnu Agasthya as Godjo, Unnimaya Prasad as Sisily, and Vineeth Kumar as Shajahan.

The screenplay has been penned by four writers —Dileesh Nair, Syam Pushkaran, Sharfu, and Suhas. They are reuniting after the hit movie Maayanadhi.

Aashiq Abu will also handle the cinematography. This will be his second outing after Mathew Thomas’ upcoming film Lovely.

Rifle Club‘s production design is being handled by Ajayan Chalissery, known for his exceptional work on Manjummel Boys.

The music is composed by Rex Vijayan and the stunts are designed by Supreme Sundar.
