Director Aashiq Abu’s ‘Rifle Club’ starts rolling

Aashiq Abu is handling the cinematography and also producing the Malayalam film, starring Dileesh Pothan, Vani Vishwanath, and Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap.

'Rifle Club' shooting commences

Aashiq Abu’s latest directorial venture Rifle Club commenced the shooting in Mundakkayam on Wednesday, 20 March.

The filmmaker is known for his critically acclaimed projects like Salt N Pepper (2011), Maayanadhi(2017), and Virus (2019).

His new movie Rifle Club has an impressive lineup of talent, both in front of and behind the camera.

It boasts an ensemble cast — Dileesh Pothan, Vani Vishwanath, Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap, Hanumankind, The Baby Jean, Vincy Aloshious, Vishnu Agasthya, Surabhi Lakshmi, Ramzan Muhammad, Vijayaraghavan, and Unnimaya Prasad.

The screenplay has been penned by four writers —Dileesh Nair, Syam Pushkaran, Sharfu, and Suhas. They are reuniting after the hit movie Maayanadhi.

Produced by Aashiq Abu and co-produced by Vincent Vadakkan and Vishal Vincent Tony under the banner of OPM Cinemas, Rifle Club is expected to be released for Onam.

Aashiq Abu will also handle the cinematography. This will be his second outing after Mathew Thomas’ upcoming film Lovely.

Rifle Club‘s production design is being handled by Ajayan Chalissery, known for his exceptional work on Manjummel Boys.

The music is composed by Rex Vijayan and the stunts are designed by Supreme Sundar.
