Malayalam watchlist for June 2024

Two major Malayalam movies—Turbo and Guruvayoor Ambala Nadayil—released in May are still running successfully in theatres in Kerala and overseas.

Prithviraj Sukumaran-Basil Joseph’s Guruvayoor Ambala Nadayil collected ₹50 crore in just five days, while Mammootty’s Turbo grossed ₹50 crore in less than a week.

The big-budget Malayalam film earned around ₹6 crore worldwide on the opening day.

Meanwhile, Asif Ali-Biju Menon’s Thalavan opened to a positive response at the box office.

Films like Perumani, Sureshanteyum Sumalathayudeyum Hridhayahariyaya Pranayakadha, and Mandakini also received a good response from audiences.

However, there are comparatively no big releases in Malayalam in June. Given the promotional material, small films like Grrr and Nandanna Sambavam are expected to entertain the audience though.
