Malayalam actor Anna Ben, known for her work in the critically acclaimed flick Kumbalangi Nights (2019), is debuting in Telugu with the most anticipated film Kalki 2898-AD.
Kalki 2898-AD is directed by Nag Ashwin and headlined by Prabhas.
Ana Ben says her journey in the Telugu industry began with a Zoom call with director Nag Ashwin, who wanted to cast her for the role.
The filmmaker also told her that he believed Anna Ben would do justice to the role.
“I was thrilled when Nag Ashwin explained to me about my character. I am excited to be a part of something truly groundbreaking,” she told a media outlet.
However, she refused to reveal more details about her character.
Anna Ben recently debuted in Tamil with Kootukali (The Adamant Girl) opposite Sivakarthikeyan and Soori.
Kootukali was premiered at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival two months ago.
The much-awaited sci-fi drama film, Kalki 2898-AD features Rebel Star Prabhas in the lead role.
The pan-India venture has been generating much curiosity among fans and film buffs.
The movie also casts Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan in prominent roles.
It is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies with a whopping budget of ₹500 crore.
Earlier, in an interview, Nag Ashwin said Kalki 2989-AD was a product of his love for the stories of Mahabharata and Star Wars.
“I had this idea and the story just came along. I love science fiction and mythology. I grew up listening to/watching Mahabharata and Star Wars. Making a film that combines both these worlds felt ideal. And thus, Kalki 2989-AD was born,” the filmmaker added.
