Vijay Deverakonda likely to join Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD? Nani and Dulquer already in line

The most ambitious project of "Rebelstar" Prabhas and talented director Nag Ashwin, titled Kalki 2898 AD is expected to be released in 2024.

If the reports are anything to go by Natural Star Nani, Dulquer Salman, and Vijay Deverakonda are likely to play a cameo in Prabhas’ much-awaited flick Kalki 2898 AD (Project K).

Interestingly, all three are close friends of director Nag Ashwin.

Nani was the lead in Nagi’s debut flick Yevade Subramanyam (2015), while Vijay Deverakonda played the supporting role of Rishi, a lunatic who aspires to visit “Doodh Kasi”.

Ever since Mahanati (2018) became a raging hit, Dulquer hasn’t lost the common touch with the director Nagi.

How big is their cameo going to be?

It is still a mystery until it comes out from the makers themselves. Even Dulquer was a bit hesitant during an interview when a question was shot at him if he was playing a cameo. He neither denied nor confirmed his playing a cameo.

Kalki 2898 AD is the most ambitious project of Rebel Star Prabhas and director Nag Ashwin.

It features the who’s who of Indian cinema. Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone is the leading lady, while Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan is playing a full-length role in the movie. South Superstar Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani are playing key roles.

Some portion of the shoot took place at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad recently where scenes involving Prabhas and Deepika were canned.

Post the success of Mahanati — a film about the life of the legendary actress Savitri that won several accolades — Kalki 2898 AD is being bankrolled on a massive scale by Aswini Dutt, producer and founder of Vyjayanthi Movies.

The recently-released first look of Prabhas created a furore on social media as trolls had a field day expressing disappointment over the poorly edited first look.

Meanwhile, the makers of the film are busy working on the visual effects part.

Kalki 2898 AD is expected to be released in 2024. It already gathered enough buzz due to the star-studded cast.

The expectations on the Prabhas film skyrocketed as his last two outings proved to be box office disasters.
