Most anticipated movie

Empuraan, the sequel of Mohanlal’s blockbuster movie Lucifer was announced in August last year. The shooting was supposed to start this August.

But it was put off after Prithviraj met with an accident during the shooting of Vilayath Buddha and was advised to take a rest for a couple of months.

Hence, Mohanlal started working on his new movie Neru with Jeethu Joseph which will be reportedly released for Christmas this year.

Prithviraj also has to complete his portions for Vilayath Buddha. He will join the shooting of Empuraan after completing the same.

Empuraan is the most anticipated project of Mohanlal. The first part — Lucifer — was a megahit and shattered the box office figures by becoming the first Malayalam movie to collect ₹200 crore.

It was produced by Aashirwad Productions helmed by Antony Perumbavoor, a close associate of Mohanlal.

Mohanlal has a number of releases in his kitty. His Neru will be released in December and Malaikottai Vaaliban on 25 January. His directorial debut Barroz is also under post-production works.
