The director said that the shooting location was shifted from Munnar to Kashmir to avoid huge crowds on the sets of the Vijay-starrer.
Ahead of the release of his brand new movie Leo starring Thalapathy Vijay, on 19 October, Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj is busy with promotional activities.
In one such interview, the filmmaker revealed an interesting aspect of the Thalapathy Vijay-starrer.
Lokesh said Leo was initially meant to be shot in Munnar in Kerala’s Idukki district. The production team visited a couple of places in Munnar for the shoot. However, at the last minute, the team decided to shift the location to Kashmir, he revealed.
“Had the shooting happened in Munnar, there would have been a mad rush on the Leo sets. It happens anywhere in South India when Vijay makes a public appearance. So, the other option for us was to design a special set for the shoot, which we thought was not viable for various reasons. So, the team decided to shoot the film in a remote village in Kashmir,” he added.
Leo has an ensemble cast — Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Priya Anand, Mishkin, Gautam Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, and Mathew Thomas.
Its music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander and the action choreography is by Anbariv.
This is the first film of Vijay to be released in the IMAX format. It will also be dubbed in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
Leo already created a pre-release record in the UK with 10000+ tickets getting booked within a day of opening the sales, 42 days before its global release. Ahimsa Entertainment is distributing the movie in the UK and Europe.
