Kannada watchlist for April 2024. (X)
With the Lok Sabha elections heat turning up, the Kannada movie industry won’t have major releases in April 2024.
However, a couple of projects like Dhruv Sarja’s Appa I Love You, Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar’s Production O2, and the drama thriller Matinee will be released this month.
Interestingly, the majority of movies hitting the theatres are thrillers.
Let’s check out the Kannada watchlist for April 2024:
Actor Darshan released the trailer of the film Matinee on 29 March.
A thriller, Matinee is set in Bengaluru. The movie stars Sathish Ninasam, Rachitha Ram, and Aditi Prabhudeva in the main roles.
It is directed by Manohar Kaampalli and is produced under the banner of F3 Productions.
The Kannada film is set for release on 5 April 2024.

A sequel to the 2022 thriller Avatara Purusha, Avatara Purusha 2 will hit the theatres on 5 April.
Yet another fantasy thriller, it stars, Ashika Ranganath and Sharan in the lead roles.
Ashika Ranganath was last seen in the Telugu movie Naa Saami Ranga (2024).
Simple Suni directs the film, while William David is the cinematographer.
The trailer of the film was released on 1 April.

Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar’s production O2 is a medical thriller.
Directed by Prashanth Rajendra, the film stars Ashika Ranganath and Praveen Tej.
The Kannada film is up for release on 19 April 2024.
The trailer is scheduled to release on 1 April.

Dhruv Sarja’s Appa I Love You is set to hit the screens in April.
The Atharv Arya directorial stars Lovely Star Prem, Tabala Nani, Sanjay, and Jeevitha Vashishta.
The “Love song” from the film was released on 29 March.
The release date of the film is yet to be announced.

Raghavendra M Naik’s directorial Marigold is set to release on 5 April 2024.
According to reports, Diganth Manchale will appear in a never-seen-before role in the flick.
Sangeetha Sringeri is the female lead in the Kannada film.
While Veer Samarth is composing the music for the film, KS Chandrashekar is the cinematographer.
The trailer of the film was released on 25 March.
