Telugu watchlist: ‘The Family Star’ likely to stand winner this April

Small-budget films like 'Bharathanatyam'. 'Prathinidhi 2', and 'Love Me' also have caught the fancy of audiences with the trailers.

Telugu watchlist for April 2024

Except for Vijay Deverakonda’s The Family Star, there is nothing much promising for Telugu cinema this summer. A slew of low-budget films are set for release this April, though.

Without delay, let’s  check the Telugu watchlist for April 2024:

The Family Star

Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming film The Family Star is the most-awaited movie of the summer season.

Directed by Parasuram Petla, the Telugu film features the actor as a typical protagonist in a family setup who undergoes the travails of after-marriage life.

The Family Star is produced by Raju and Sirish under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. Mrunal Thakur is the love interest of Vijay Deverakonda. Gopi Sunder has composed the music.

As the film is releasing in theatres on 5 April 2024, trade pundits predict that the Vijay-starrer can only surge ahead if the craze for Tillu Square subsides.

Bharathanatyam

Starring Surya Teja Aelay, Meenakshi Goswami and Viva Harsha in the lead roles, the upcoming romantic comedy Bharathanatyam is a low-budget flick that is getting released in theatres on April 5.

Directed by KVR Mahendra and produced by Payal Saraf under the banner PR Films, the movie also stars Harshavardhan, Salim Feku, Gangavva, Krishnadu, Temper Vamsi, Naga Mahesh, Tarzan, Manik Reddy, Sivannarayana, Sattanna, Santosh Balakrishna and Ajay Ghosh in crucial roles

Vivek Sagar composed the music.

Bharatanatyam runs with the theme “Cinema is the most beautiful fraud in the world”.

It revolves around a man who is deeply passionate about the art of filmmaking. It draws viewers into the character’s world as he recounts a story.

Among the key characters are Harshavardhan, who is a notorious goon. Ajay Ghosh plays a law enforcement officer.

Geethanjali Malli Vachindhi

Geethanjali Malli Vachindhi is directed by Siva Thurlapati and produced by MVV Satyanarayana, GV under the banner MVV Cinema and Kona Film Corporation.

Starring Anjali in the lead role, the upcoming horror comedy Geethanjali Malli Vachindhi has piqued the curiosity of everyone with its first glimpse and teaser.

Srinivas Reddy, Satyam Rajesh, Shakalaka Shankar, Ali, Brahmaji, Ravi Shankar, Rahul Madhav and Satya play crucial roles.

Pravin Lakkaraju composed the music for Geethanjali Malli Vachindhi.

Siva Thurlapati wrote and directed the movie.

The Telugu film is hitting the screens on 11 April 2024.

Love Me

Love Me is an upcoming horror thriller starring Vaishnavi Chaitanya, who rose to fame with the blockbuster flick Baby (2023). Love Me is scheduled to hit screens on 25 April.

Directed by Arun Bhimavarapu and produced by Harshith Reddy, the Telugu movie is being bankrolled by Harshith Reddy, and Hansitha Naga Mallidi under the banner Dil Raju Productions.

It features Ashish in the lead role. MM Keeravaani is composing the music for ‘Love Me’ which is helmed by Arun Bhimavarapu.

Prathinidhi 2

Prathinidhi 2, starring Nara Rohith, is hitting the theatres on 25 April 2024. It is directed by Murthy Devagupthapu and produced by NA under the banner Vanara Entertainments.

Mahati Swara Sagar composed the music for Prathinidhi 2.

The other cast includes Siri Lella, Dinesh Tej, Sapthagiri, Jisshu Sengupta, Sachin Khedehar, Thanikella Bharani, Indraja, Udaya Bhanu, Ajay Gosh, Ajay, Praveen, Prudhvi Raj, Raghu Babu Raghu Karumanchi.
