Sharing the news, Ramya wrote on her Instagram story: 'I will not be working on Uttarakaanda due to unavailability of dates'
One of the most anticipated releases of 2024 for the Kannada film industry is KGR Productions’ Uttarakaanda.
The movie is significant not only because Daali Dananjaya and Shiva Rajkumar will share the screen space but also because Ramya is set to return to the silver screen after a gap.
However, the joy seems shortlived as Ramya announced on her Instagram stories that she withdrew from the film.
She wrote: “I will not be working on Uttarakaanda due to unavailability of dates(I’ve put my film/political commitments on hold) Wishing the team very best!”
Though she made a cameo in Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare, Ramya was last seen in a lead role in Nagarahavu (2016).
Later, she temporarily took a break from acting due to her political career.
She even launched her production house AppleBox Studios.
Her maiden production venture directed and acted by Raj B Shetty was Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye. The film received rave reviews and did well at the box office.
Uttarakaanda, launched in 2022, is directed by Rohith Padaki of Ratnan Prapancha (2021) fame.
Actor-producer Daali Dhananjaya will be seen as a gangster in it.
According to the makers, Uttarakaanda is a mega tale of gangsters from the land of the North.
Made under the KRG Studios banner, the gangster drama produced by Karthik Gowda and Yogi G Raj will also feature Karunada Chakravarthy Dr Shivarajkumar in a powerful role.
