Malayalam director Alphonse Puthren has shared his moment of joy via an Instagram story.
Alphonse posted an audio clip of Kamal Haasan where the veteran actor complimented the director’s song written for his (Kamal’s) birthday on 7 November this year.
Tamil actor R Parthiban converted Ulaganayagan’s audio message into a video format, and Alphonse put it up as his Instagram story.

In his message, Kamal said, “He (Alphonse Puthren) may not be physically well, but from the sound of it (song), I understand that his mind is productive. His voice sounds so joyous, and I hope he remains the same way.”
Ulaganayagan also spoke about Alphonse’s decision to stay away from the cinema.
“His decision is personal, but I wish he takes good care of his health. Take care, Alphonse,” Kamal added.
Earlier, Soorarai Pottru director Sudha Kongara also conveyed her wishes to Alphonse Puthren. She said Premam kept her alive during her lowest times. She also promised to watch his (Alphonse’s) works in any format he wished to do.
In October, Alphonse announced his retirement from the mainstream cinema career upon finding that he had autistic spectrum disorder. After his Instagram post informing the same went viral, the director deleted it.
Alphonse Puthren is currently working on the Tamil movie Gift. It casts Kovai Sarla, Sandy, Sahana Sarvesh, and Sampath Raj. Ilaiyaraaja is composing the music.
Alphonse’s previous outing with Prithviraj Sukumaran, Gold had a lukewarm response. The director hit back at trolls who targeted his flick. He warned that he would go invisible on social media if the trolling continued and also removed his profile pic on his Facebook page in protest against trolling.
He also went invisible on Instagram for a few days.
