Director Mani Ratnam’s next with Kamal Haasan (KH234) has been titled Thug Life. The makers released the title video of the film on Monday evening, 6 November.
The actor looked ferocious and stunning in the gangster action drama.
In the title video, the name of Kamal’s character is revealed as ‘Rangaraaya Sakthivel Naicker’. Interestingly, Sakthivel Naicker was the name of Kamal’s character in Nayakan (1987), an epic crime drama directed by Mani Ratnam.
Meanwhile, speculations were rife that KH234 might be titled Nayakan 2 or Nayakan Returns as Nayakan was based on Varadarajan Mudaliar, the underworld don in Mumbai.
Expectations are running sky-high for Thug Life as Kamal Haasan is collaborating with Mani Ratnam after 36 years.
Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan and Tamil actors Trisha and Jayam Ravi are also part of this much-anticipated movie.
Earlier in the day, the makers released the first-look poster of Kamal Haasan from the film, a day before the actor’s birthday as a treat to his fans.
The poster of Thug Life created a buzz of excitement and was widely being circulated on social media.

This is the first time that Dulquer Salmaan will be sharing the screen with Kamal Haasan. He teamed up with Mani Ratnam for OK Kanmani (2015) where Nithya Menen played the female lead.
Dulquer Salmaan is now shooting for his Tamil movie Kaantha directed by Selvamani Selvaraj.
His next is a Telugu movie titled Lucky Baskhar. It is directed by Venky Atluri.

Trisha and Jayam Ravi collaborated with Mani Ratnam for the magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan 1 and 2 (2022 and 2023).
While Jayam Ravi played the titular role, Trisha played his sister’s role — Princess Kundavai.
