Arvind Swami or Arun Vijay to replace Jayam Ravi in Thug Life

Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life is in the news again. And this time, it is because of Arvind Swami and Arun Vijay.

Reports suggest that Arvind Swami or Arun Vijay will replace Jayam Ravi in the Mani Ratnam’s directorial.

An official confirmation is awaited though.

Jayam Ravi, who had an extended cameo in the movie, withdrew from the flick due to date issues.

Dulquer Salmaan, too, opted out of Thug Life because of date issues. Following this, the makers reportedly approached Silambarasan for the role. However, the Tamil actor has not yet given his nod.

Interestingly, Silambarasan was the original choice for the role. But he couldn’t give a green signal to the project due to his looks, which he designed for his next movie — STR48.

Thug Life created quite a buzz also since Kamal and Mani Ratnam are coming together again after over 30 years since Nayakan (1987).

However, Kamal recently said in an interview that the shooting schedule had been discontinued due to the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. He will join the sets after the elections.

The next schedule will begin in Serbia in April, where all the actors will participate.

The makers of Thug Life roped in a galaxy of actors for the Kamal Haasan-starrer. The ensemble cast includes Trisha Krishnan, Jayam Ravi, Gautam Karthik, Joju George, and Aishwarya Lekshmi.

It is jointly produced by Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, R Mahendran and Siva Ananth under their banners Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies.

Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies is presenting it.
